ShareRing Car Rental Experience

April 13, 2023

ShareRing believes car renting should be simple; a stress-free run-of-the-mill part of a holiday.

In 2015, The Competition and Markets Authority (formerly the Office of Fair Trading) conducted an investigation into car hire in the UK and in Europe. The investigation looked at the online price transparency, terms and conditions and general behaviour of rental companies. After this investigation, they gave rental companies 6 months to clean up their act.  Since that time, these issues have most definitely been improved on.

However, there are still many issues a customer may face when renting a car. Particularly if you are renting outside of the UK and Europe, in regions which may have less robust codes of conduct and mediation services for customers.

The biggest problem since the investigation continues to be aggressive sales tactics; used to pressure customers into purchasing their expensive damage-waiver cover. This is insurance to cover the excess you will have to pay if you damage the car in any way.

With ShareRing, renting a car has never been so simple and stress-free. All fees are fully transparent and easy to understand. What you see is what you get.
